Welcome to Summer Reading! 
Our program runs June 1 through August 10.

Register your kids and teens (birth-18) here to start recording your books

Pre-Readers (ages birth-4)

  • Complete any five activities on the activity sheet to earn a free book. The pre-readers activity sheet is here
  • Write or draw book reviews for a chance to win Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, Crayola Experience, or Sea Life Aquarium tickets. The pre-readers and kids book review form is here.
    • You can select the ticket you wish to enter to win if you enter online. Sorry, we can't to do this with paper forms.  
  • You may also want to register kids that haven't started kindergarten yet for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. It aims to get kids ready to learn when they enter school. Check in with your library for more details.
    • If you are doing both programs please both log the book (for 1000 Books) and do a review (for Summer Reading).    

Kids (ages 5-11)

  • Write or draw book reviews for a chance to win Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, Crayola Experience, or Sea Life Aquarium tickets. The pre-readers and kids book review form is here.

Teens (ages 12-18)

  • Enter book reviews for a chance to win a Barnes and Noble gift card or tickets to the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, or Sea Life Aquarium.  The teen book review form is here.
    • Your first book review wins you a free book. 
    • You can select the ticket you wish to enter to win if you enter online. Sorry, we can't do this with paper forms.
    • The bookmark contest will once more have a winner at each location. The bookmark contest form is hereTurn in your entry on or before July 22.

Events and Programs

Check our calendar for all Summer Reading events. Reminder- some require registration. 

A few calendar shortcuts: kids events (for ages up to 11, please read details to see if it's for specific ages within that group), storytimes, teen events (for ages 12 and up).
