Our Summer Reading Program runs June 1 through August 10.

Register your kids and teens (birth-18) here
You can start recording books on June 1st.

You can also register kids that haven't started kindergarten yet for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!  You'll then need to enter each book into the 1000 Books log and do a review in Summer Reading.    
1000 Books 
aims to get kids ready to learn when they enter school.  Check in with your library for more details.

Pre-Readers (ages birth-4)

  • Complete any five activities on the activity sheet to earn a free book. 
  • Write or draw book reviews for a chance to win Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, Crayola Experience, or Sea Life Aquarium tickets.
    • You can select the ticket you wish to enter to win if you enter online.  Sorry, we are not able to do this with paper forms.  

Kids (ages 5-11)

  • Complete any five activities on the activity sheet to earn a free book. 
  • Write or draw book reviews for a chance to win Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, Crayola Experience, or Sea Life Aquarium tickets.

Teens (ages 12-18)

  • Enter book reviews for a chance to win a Barnes and Noble gift card or tickets to the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota State Fair, or Sea Life Aquarium.  
    • Your first book review wins you a free book. 
    • You can select the ticket you wish to enter to win if you enter online.  Sorry, we are not able to do this with paper forms.  
  • The bookmark contest will be back!  Watch for details.

Activities

Check our calendar for all Summer Reading events, more may be added so keep checking back.  Don't forget that some require registration starting May 1st.  A few calendar shortcuts: kids events (for ages up to 11, please read details to see if it's for specific ages within that group), storytimes, teen events (for ages 12 and up).
