Using Your Library

The Carver County Library System is a service of Carver County government in collaboration with your local city government and the Library Board of Trustees.

You can access your library account from your home, office, or vacation spot.  And all you need is a computer with internet access and your library card to:

If you do not have a library card, you can apply for one online.  If you have account questions, call your library during open hours or use our contact us form.

At the Library

Public Computers: All libraries have free to use public computers with Internet access and Office 2010 (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word). There is a charge for printing ($.15 per page black and white, $.50 per page for color).  

Computing Devices: At Victoria you can use an iPad inside of the library, inquire at the Technology Desk.  At Waconia you can use your library card to check out a Chromebook to use inside of the library, you'll need page one of this form filled out also.  Please note that children 7-16 need page two of the form filled in by a parent or guardian on file also, and children under 7 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to use one.

Wireless Internet Access: WiFi is available at all Carver County Libraries during open hours. The wireless network is CarverPublicWiFi. A wireless password is necessary to access the wireless network and changes monthly.  Currently wireless printing from laptop computers is available at all library locations, and the Victoria Library also has printing available for mobile devices. 

Copiers: Copy machines are available at all libraries. The cost is $.15 per page for black-and-white copies and $.50 per page for color copies.

Faxing: Fax machines for public use are available with the assistance of a staff member. The cost is $.50 per page (the cover page is free).

Scanners: All libraries have scanners that the public can use.  There is no charge to scan, but please bring a USB drive to save your files.

Getting Material from Other Libraries: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) lets you request materials (older than a year) that are not in our catalog.

Meeting Rooms: You can fill in an application to reserve meeting rooms at the Chanhassen Library for your meeting or event.  Please read the meeting room policy and guidelines and costs before booking the room.

Study Rooms: Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Chanhassen, Chaska and Waconia Libraries. 

Please note we do not provide proctoring or notary services.
