 To support schools and students learning from home, the Carver County Library offers contactless curbside pickup for items on hold at all libraries.

What is this service?

  • Contactless curbside pickup for items on hold provides a way for patrons to obtain library materials.
  • All library materials have been quarantined for 72 hours before being made available for patrons.The service may be used to pick up all items currently on hold as well as new holds placed in our catalog or by calling the Chanhassen information desk at 952-227-1502, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.
  • When your requested materials are at the library and available for pickup, library staff will contact you
  • Library materials will be checked out to you for six weeks.  

Where, when, and how is this service offered?

  • Chanhassen Library,  Monday-Friday from 10 am-2 pm
    • Before coming to the library, please call 952-227-1501 so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-227-1501 to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library for you to retrieve.
  •  Chaska Library, Monday-Thursday from 10 am-2 pm
    •  Before coming to the library, please call 952-227-7610 so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-227-7610 to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library for you to retrieve.
  •  Norwood Young America, Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am-2 pm
    •  Before coming to the library, please call  952-467-2665 so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-467-2665 to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library for you to retrieve.
  • Victoria Library, Monday and Wednesday from 10 am-2 pm
    •  Before coming to the library, please call 952-442-3051 so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-442-3051 to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library for you to retrieve.
  • Waconia Library, Monday-Friday from 10 am-2 pm
    •  Before coming to the library, please call 952-442-4714 ext. 2 so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-442-4714 ext. 2 to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library to your vehicle.
  • Watertown Library, Monday and Wednesday from 10 am-2 pm
    •  Before coming to the library, please call 952-955-2939  so staff can check items out to you.
    • When you arrive at the library, please call 952-955-2939  to tell staff that you are here to pick up holds and provide them with your full name.
    • Staff will bring items from the library for you to retrieve.

What if I choose not to pick up items?

  • If you choose not to do contact-free curbside pick-up, your holds will be available to you once the library reopens.

Can I return items at this time?

  • Yes, you can return items in the book drop. Please don't hand them to staff. Library materials don't need to be returned until the library reopens, no fines will be assessed for materials due during this closed period. 

Can I access other library services?

  • All library buildings remain closed.
  • The Carver and Mayer express libraries are open; the Cologne and Victoria express libraries are closed
  • The phone numbers above are for curbside pick-up of library materials only.
  • Requests can be placed in our catalog or by calling the Chanhassen information desk at 952-227-1502, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 2 pm.
