Donating Money
You are able to donate money via the Library Foundation or our Friends groups.
Donating Materials
Thanks for your generosity! We welcome limited donations of gently used books and DVDs in good condition at any of our locations. See below for details on what we will and won't accept.
When and where to donate:
- Due to space constraints donations will only be accepted one month prior to a sale at Norwood Young America, Victoria, Waconia, and Watertown Libraries.
- Chaska and Chanhassen Libraries will accept donations at any time
- All libraries accept donations of 2-3 bags of books or fewer.
- If your donation is larger than this Chanhassen Library can take the items.
We are unable to accept the following:

Old computer books
-
Old travel guides
-
Textbooks
-
Magazines
-
Software
-
VHS tapes
-
Audiocassettes
-
Vinyl records
-
Crossword books, workbooks, journals, or other books published specifically to be written in

Encyclopedias, dictionaries, or outdated reference books

Items in poor condition. All donations must be free of mildew, mold, excessive dust, smoke or other scents, and dirt.
Any donation that does not meet these requirements will be immediately discarded.
Donating to the Local Author Collection
Note: local authors can donate a copy of their work to be considered for addition to the local author collection by submitting a copy along with this form. The collection is housed at Chanhassen Library.
