Carver County Library's Summer Reading Experience is a celebration of Reading!


June 1 to August 14

For ages birth to 11, here's how to participate!

Win books or other prizes -- Complete an Activity Sheet to win a book or for every book read over the summer, kids can enter the drawings for an opportunity to win other prizes by filling out a
Attend Cool Programs -- The Schedule is full of programs and performaces over the summer. Look inside the brochure to see what's at your local library or at other branches of the Carver County Library system. Registration is live for all programs and you can sign up on the Library Event Calendar or by contacting your local library. Remember, you are always welcome to attend programming at any of our Carver County Library locations!
Find awesome books -- Discover great books at your library, browse reading lists and read other kids' reviews online
Enjoy completing a summer reading program online! The summer reading program is online. Visit the Bookawocky site, complete the simple registration, and start earning virtual badges for your participation and reading!

STEAM Maker Labs
Fun hands on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)activities encouraging exploration, conversation, and curiousity lead by trained teen volunteers.
For ages 9-12

Robotics Demo
For ages 6-13
Join us for a fun robotics demo in the library. Presented by members of local high school robotics teams that have competed on a state and national level!

Summer Reading and Kids' Learning
  - Did you know that young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer? Take a look at this video produced by Horizons National that demonstrates the 
importance of summer learning and the long-term effects on literacy it can have on our kids. Children who take part in educational programs during the summer start the next school year ready to learn!
